The primary goal of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District is to become a premier school district in the United States of America.

"Creating Effective Citizens Today and Tomorrow."

Vision Statement

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District Social Studies Department will prepare students to compete in a global society. The curriculum is designed for high standards and rigor. The social studies  curriculum integrates history, culture, geography, economics, government, citizenship, and literacy.

Teachers are committed to excellence and strive to train students to use historical inquiry and to become critical thinkers. Each  teacher excels in motivating students by professionally engaging in intellectual discussions that encourage students to  succeed and teachers to be challenged to seek answers to  unlock how social studies is taught.
