Inverse Operation of Subtraction

  • Addition undoes the operation called subtraction. In Arithmetic: If 16 - 9 = 7, then 9 + 7 = 16 and 7 + 9 = 16 In Algebra: c - b = a, then b + a = c and a + b = c
