The Role of the Paraprofessional in Special Education, Part 1 of 3

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

4:30 – 7 p.m.

Garrett Morgan School of Science

Participants will become aware of the roles and responsibilities of the Paraprofessional in the special education classroom.  Participants will receive information and resources pertaining to “Do’s and Don’ts” for collaborating with teachers and other staff in order to deliver appropriate services to students with special needs.

Note:  This session is ONLY for Paraprofessionals assigned to special education programs.

Conditions for In-service Attendance

  • Upon completion of series requirements, participants will receive contact hours that can be converted into CEUs.

  • Participants will receive compensation per the CTU agreed upon in-service rate. (Voluntary Professional Development hours do not apply).

  • Please DO NOT bring children to the sessions.
