Jerry Tollfison Open for Art Criticism
Ohio Art Education Association
Dear Parents of Ryan Jablonske (Newton D.
Baker, gr. 6)
On behalf of the Ohio Art Education
Association I would like to inform you that your child,
Ryan Jablonske has received third place (grade
4-6 category) in the Jerry Tollfison Open for Art
Criticism. The level of your child’s writing was chosen
as exceptional and should be commended.
You, your child, teacher and guests are
invited to attend the OAEA Youth Art Month awards
ceremony scheduled for Saturday, March 1, at the State
Teacher Retirement System of Ohio, 275 E. Broad Street,
Columbus, Ohio. Registration will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Each year the Ohio Art Education
Association wishes to provide a forum where children
have an opportunity to express their thoughts about art
and to develop a stronger understanding about the
meaning of art.
The Art Criticism Open allows student to
construct meaning and value to works of art and to look
at how art inspires and acknowledges their personal
thoughts about art based on what they have learned. I
commend the teachers who have inspired your child to
reach the high potential for expression evidenced in
their thoughtful reflections.
If you are unable to attend the awards
ceremony your child will receive their award from their
art teacher at a later date.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jan Fedorenko
