Financial assistance is not available for most Career Enhancement Programs. Tuition payment arrangements must be made prior to the first class.
 

Career Enhancement courses provide continuing education options for adults seeking to further develop technical skills.

AUTOMOTIVE BODY REPAIR TECHNOLOGY

This course prepares students for entry-level employment as an Automotive Body Repair technician. The extended scope of this course covers the wide range of skills needed to begin a career in the automotive refinishing industry. After completing this course students are prepared to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification test.

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY

This course prepares students for entry-level employment as an Automotive Service Technician. The extended scope of this course covers the wide range of skills needed to begin a career in the automotive service industry. After completing this course students are prepared to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification test.

  • Engine repair, electrical system fundamentals, ignition systems
  • Tool identification, use, handling, and storage
  • Auto Service Shop Safety Design construction and application of engine components
  • Axles and drives, rear, constant and four wheel ABS traction control
  • Steering systems, linkage of wheel shaft and gears, power steering
  • Wheel hubs and bearings, alignment and steering geometry
  • Transmission/transaxle maintenance and repair
  • General engine diagnosis and repair
  • Automatic transmission manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electronic systems and preventative maintenance

BLUEPRINT READING FOR MACHINISTS

Continuing Education for Machine Operators
Basic introduction to machinist blueprint reading. Class includes reading general industrial drawing, title blocks, views and projections, lines and basic symbols.

Days: Monday & Wednesday 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Tuition: $275
(Tuition includes classroom materials.)


BOILER OPERATION/ STEAM ENGINEERING

This course is designed for individuals working in building maintenance, boiler repair and other State approved maintenance work. This course is ideal for individuals who wish to prepare for a career in high pressure boiler operation or steam engineering.

  • 20-week course
  • Meets two (2) nights per week
  • 125-hours of instruction

Days: Monday & Wednesday 6:00-9:00 p.m.

BUILDING TRADES

Continuing Education for Carpenters
Instruction is given in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools; plan drawing, blueprint reading and measurement. Framing of floors and walls, doors or windows, drywall— mud and tape; siding and roof shingles may be covered.

Days: Monday & Wednesday 6:00-9:00 p.m.
