Duties and Responsibilities
BAC Responsibilities include, but are
not limited to, the following:

Monitoring the implementation of and
revisions to the School Districts Facilities Master Plan;

Working in conjunction with the State of
Ohio, the construction manager and owners representative to
review the design, engineering, contract bidding procurement and
construction of the School Districts construction projects,
with this review including, but not limited to, a review of the
manner in which contracts are awarded, and any other areas
subsequently identified by the Board Chair;

Holding quarterly public meetings, at times
and places convenient to the public, to review the Facilities
Master Plan and spending of new bond funds;

Issue an annual report with respect to the
facilities assessment, renovation and repair projects and the
School Districts spending of bond proceeds to the Board and the
community; and
-
Communicate directly with the Board Chair, as
necessary, concerning its work and its findings; and
-
Work closely with the School District to
ensure compliance with Board Resolution 2001-159(B), including
bidding procedures, hiring goals for minorities, women and
School District residents, and apprenticeship opportunities for
School District students; and
-
Work closely with the School
District in monitoring compliance with Board Resolution
2005-493(B), regarding Board policy on contracting personnel.
As a commission created by the Board,
the Bond Accountability Commission is a public body subject to the
Ohio Open Meetings Law (also known as the Sunshine Law) as set forth
in Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code, and shall conduct its
business in accordance with the provisions of the Sunshine Law,
including, but not limited to, establishing a reasonable method of
notifying the public of the time, place and purpose of its meetings,
and preparing, filing and maintaining minutes of its meetings. |
