The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) serves a diverse student body of approximately 55,000 students.

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eugene T.W. Sanders, the District is striving to become a premier school district in the United States of America.

CMSD is moving towards expanding 21st Century learning through the use of individualized academic strategies, innovative programs, highly qualified teachers, schools of choice and early learning intervention programs.

In the 2007-08 school year, CMSD will open the Ginn Academy, named after famed Glenville High School football coach Ted Ginn, Sr., for at-risk boys. The Distr ict will also open four single gender academies, and institute a district-wide student uniform and dress code policy.
