Perry-Castandena Map Collection

The University of Texas gives us this incredible collection of online maps for our use. Not only does this site have maps of all the countries, states and major cities of the world, but also has historical maps, maps of the oceans, maps of the polar region and just about any other map imaginable. http://www.lib.utexas.edu/Libs/PCL/Map_collection/Map_collection.html

Map Quest

This is an incredible site. Just type in an address and a city and get a street map with directions on how to get there also get real-time traffic reports and local news and events. A creative teacher can find some use for this site in the classroom, but if not, this is a good site to know of for personal use. http://www.mapquest.com/

OSSHE Historical & Cultural Atlas Resource

This is a really nice site brought to you by Oregon University (Go Ducks!) that features many 'Interactive" maps of cultural and historical significance. Shockwave is required, but I haven't seen these maps anywhere else on the net. http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~atlas/
