Peter Raskind has been in one of the region's most important and most challenging jobs for just a couple weeks.
Raskind, former President of National City Bank and temporary head of the Port Authority, is the man in charge of Cleveland schools.
He is working for a $1-a-year salary. Mayor Frank Jackson and the school board picked him to temporarily succeed Dr. Eugene Sanders after Sanders' surprising decision to step down before his Transformation Plan got rolling.
The schools face a $58 million deficit and difficult pay-reopener negotiations with unions.
Some believe Raskind was brought in to wield the ax to pave the way to sell a school levy in August and make life less difficult for his permanent successor.
What are his marching orders? What's on his short-list agenda? Will he change the transformation plan?
Tom Beres discusses these issues with Raskind and Channel 3 Political Analysts Mary Anne Sharkey and Dennis Eckart on this edition of Between the Lines.
