JOHN F. KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL & OHIO SAVINGS BANK

As part of the Cleveland Initiative for Education Partnership, Ohio Savings Bank collaborates with the Principal, faculty and staff of John F. Kennedy High School in an effort to:

Enhance, expand, and support the school's instructional programs in accordance with the School Performance Indicators (SPI) and Academic Achievement Plan (AAP) (e.g., Ohio Savings Banking Club).
Assist the school with improving leadership and learning as well as gaining an understanding of the business world (e.g., Ohio Savings Junior Achievement Program).
Help the school improve literacy and the passing rate for State of Ohio Proficiency Tests (e.g., individual tutoring of students by Ohio Savings employees).
Provide students with an increased sense of self-confidence and belonging through supportive mentoring relationships (e.g., Ohio Savings Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program).
Deepen the connection between JFK and the larger community (e.g., summer internships or other employment opportunities, employment interview coaching, job shadowing, assistance with resume building).
Subsidize students with high academic credentials so that they may attend college (e.g., Ohio Savings Bank Scholarship Program).
Address needs and roadblocks by providing essential support and resources (e.g., educational supplies, cables for computers; professional development seminars for teachers).
Arrange for presentations and speakers concerning life skills and other key issues relevant to today's students.

Stability
Ohio Savings Bank and its AmTrust Bank division share a rich and successful history. Founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1889, Ohio Savings Bank has grown from a local savings and loan to a nationally recognized leader in retail banking, wholesale mortgage lending and construction lending.

Ohio Savings Bank ended its first year with one branch office and $20,000 in assets. Since then, we have grown to nearly $10 billion in assets, and are one of the 20 largest mortgage lenders in the United States.

Growth
In 1989, we purchased Palm Plaza Savings Bank in Boca Raton, Florida. This purchase resulted in the establishment of our AmTrust Bank division. Today, in addition to the 34 Ohio Savings Bank branches in the Cleveland, Akron and Columbus, Ohio markets, there are 15 AmTrust Bank branches located throughout southeast Florida.

Expansion into yet another market continued in 1999, when we opened our first AmTrust Bank branch in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Two additional Arizona locations have opened since then, bringing the total number of Ohio Savings Bank and AmTrust Bank branches to 52. A fourth Arizona branch will open late 2001, and additional expansion plans are in the works.

We were one of the first banks to introduce convertible adjustable rate mortgages, fixed rate credit cards, and a host of other products. And today, our online banking program and award winning Customer Contact Center offer 24-hour a day access, allowing our customers to open new accounts, apply for credit cards, get up-to-the-minute account information, order checks, and more.
