Kindergarten Registration
Registration information
Kindergarten Registration opens this month in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District with sign-ups for fall’s full-day kindergarten classes beginning Feb. 27 and continuing until March 2.
Parents can register any child who will be 5-years-old by Sept. 30, 2012, at any of the District’s K-8 schools or at its Student Assignment Office, 1440 Lakeside Ave.
For parents unable to register on weekdays, Saturday registration is scheduled on March 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at four high schools: East Tech, Glenville, Lincoln West and John Marshall.
For all registrations, parents will need:
• a child’s birth certificate
• proof of address
• a child’s complete immunization record, and
• guardianship documents if applicable.
By registering early, parents can ensure their child gets into the K-8 school in their neighborhood.
CMSD is positioned to give every student the best possible education, with high-quality teachers, a child-centered learning environment, early literacy and math instruction, computer technology, free hearing and vision screening, as well as additional parent and family services.
Parents whose children speak a language other than English should call the Multilingual Multicultural Education Center at 216/404-5159 or Special Education at 216/592-7387 to be referred for assessment and registration.
For more information, call the Office of Early Childhood at 216-348-4559.
